First Line Help:

These are the people who take the First testimonies. They can be Pastoral workers and telephone receptionists who provide first aid and suicide Prevention Aid…

It is Crucial to understand what is said between the lines of what desperate people are crying out. In the training we will explain how to manage the unspeakable. Therefore, First Line Helpers must feel comfortable with a problem that affects more than 33 % of the population. It is thus essential to be able to listen actively, with understanding and compassion, as well as professionalism and humanity. This is crucial to be able to advise the help seeker in finding the right help.

Psychologists, Therapists, Doctors, Hospital Staff, Psychiatrists:

It isn’t always easy to talk about Sexual Abuse. Or even about just Sex. Not even for Professionals. But if you want a better understanding and insight into these Problems and how to react adequately, it becomes much easier to even talk about the most difficult subjects. Because it is even more difficult for the Victim to talk about Sexuality and especially the abuse in this Spectrum.

So, most of the time, it has to be the Professional who opens the conversation based on the right techniques. It is not allowed to influence a victim in any way, but to help them feel safe with somebody who is not afraid to use the right words in the right places. Therefore, you must know and master all these aspects.

The Modules about Victims are very complete. They also contain a very practical workbook with which you can start immediately with victims and offenders. You will have a very clear insight in what Sexual Abuse is and what it does to people on short term and on long term. The Profiles of Victims are very well managed. Based on these Profiles, you will be able to offer the right treatment to Victims and Survivors of Sexual Violence. The Goal of Treatment must be: restore and heal the Victim as soon as possible.

The Modules are focused on Practice and every participant will be provided with a workbook to start right away in his Profession.

But to understand a Victim it is necessary to understand the Offenders and their Profiles. Sexual Abuse is an interaction between two ‘parties’: the Victim and the Criminal. One party reacts to the other, and these reactions will never be the same. Neither are the Profiles and the M.O. (Modus Operandi) in each case. Very often we can see that the Perceptions of a Victim as well as an Offender are the same, but the Interpretation is totally different.
The victim is chosen. The offender chooses. That is a big difference.
Being chosen is a passive act. Choosing is an active act.
A passive Act is an act where you have no choice at all.
An active Act is an act where you hold all the cards of the ‘game.

All these aspects are handled in the Modules.
Victims are NOT damaged for the rest of their lives if they receive the right treatment. Offenders are NOT damned to be Offenders forever. Therapy for each of these parties is evidently and fundamentally different.
For this group of Professionals, it is advised to follow all the Modules about Victims and Offenders.

Police Services:

In many cases, the First reports of Sexual Abuse arrive at a Police Station. It is of extreme importance to have the right Attitude from the First Report throughout the further evolution of the Procedure.

Who says what? This is crucial for the whole investigation. In this context, it cannot be questioned that every link in the Police System has to be trained to handle this kind of very serious crime. The Police System has been under fire for many years. It is time to act. Training, specifically practical training, is crucial to leading to a good result in an investigation.

For Police teams, we can compose packets that fit the team’s purpose. This can be from a Claim of abuse of a Child to serial rape and murder. But also torture and cold cases, networks, and psychopaths. How do we profile a crime scene? How do we profile a Victim? How do we compose a Geographical Mapping System? Why Mapping important? How do we make a Criminal Profile? What is forensic science, and how can we use it to solve a crime? How do we distinguish a false allegation from a real one? A false alibi from a true one?

Where do you start? Always start with an interview in Free Recall. This means that victims, as well as offender, can just make their own statements. Those statements will be ‘unorganized,’ especially from the victim. There most of the time is no logic in them. There is no decent timeline, half sentences, a lot of emotions, or no emotions at all. That is perfectly okay. More: it is absolutely normal. Both, and especially the victim, are under severe stress. Take notes of everything that is said, as well as side notes of what is not said. When finished, start the Cognitive interview based on your notes.

Each Module provides you with a practical Workbook that you can start using immediately.

Magistrates, Lawyers, Judges, Child Judges, Juvenile Judges, employees of the Justice Department, probation assistants…

The Justice Department is often the target of lots of criticism concerning its approach to criminal records and Sexual Abuse of Children or Adults who have been victims of Sexual Abuse during Childhood. Our legislation is clear, though: we have very good laws to protect Children. Unfortunately, in reality we see that these laws are very rarely applied. The consequences are that the population lost its trust in the Justice System. This can be solved.

An efficient training of every Professional who can be involved in this criminal area will arm everybody to act in the right way and to apply the laws. Professionalism in human embodiment is the answer.

Because the Justice Department has to handle criminals and victims as survivors as well, it is extremely important to pass through the whole training packet. The consequences of decisions on the highest levels are decisive in many people’s lives. And as strange as it may sound, the right Punishments for criminals are also decisive. Punishments have a healing effect on as well Victims as Society, but even on the Criminal. The Justice Apparatus replaces the population and has to guarantee Justice for that population. Fair punishments for serious Crimes are reasonable.
